Joel Friant loves the free market system. He has built a number of businesses, most of which he has run out of his home. He has opened businesses in the real estate industry and once owned a restaurant. Friant has also developed a concept of how to be successful both professionally and personally that he has shared with many other people, a concept he calls “The Income Thermostat“. He is also a published author and has publically spoken on online seminars that have included thousands of participants.

The big passion in Joel Friant‘s life, though, is the habanero pepper. Starting from high school, when he first discovered it, he’s revolved a portion of his professional career to doing his part in exposing other people do these spicy, tasty, and nutritious members of the chili pepper family. Back in the 1990s, he introduced a product called The Habanero Shaker which he sold in grocery stores. In 2012 it came back on the market, now named The Original Habanero Shaker, that he sells on Amazon.

The Original Habanero Shaker contain only dried habanero pepper flakes with no other ingredients. They’re really hot (but not so hot they’re practically inedible like the hottest peppers can be). The average habanero rates 200,000 units on the Scoville scale. Joel Friant compares that to a jalapeno which rates just 4,000 units. He says that one of the best things about them is they’re really flavor rich with a taste like smoke and butter.

Joel Friant also extolls the health benefits of habanero peppers. They are full of nutritious vitamins, dietary fiber, minerals, and a compound that is called capsaicin. Capsaicin, in particular, has research showing that it can help the body in a number of ways. This includes potential weight loss, as an anti-bacterial, Diabetes prevention, a reduction in cancer risk, and cardiovascular health.

One of the great things about The Original Habanero Shaker is that Joel Friant says it can last in the pantry for a really long time without losing potency. Though, as he points out, it rarely lasts that long since it tastes so good on so many types of dishes.
