His parents Gianpaolo and Giuliana Pozzo were passionate football fans. Gino Pozzo was raised in Udine, Italy. His mother connected him to former presidents of the Udinese Calcio football club. The family had maintained loyalty to the football club throughout their lives.

Gino Pozzo moved to united states where he attended Harvard University and graduated with a master’s degree. He then married and relocated to Spain where he spent two decades residing in Barcelona. 1n 2013 he moved to London together with his family – his wife and three kids. In London, he became busy managing his newly acquires Watford football club.

The family acquired Watford football club in 2012. At the time of purchase, the club was struggling with debts and its performance had deteriorated. Gino Pozzo was destined to steer long term strategies that would see the football club reclaim its victory which it had in the 1980s. upon acquiring Watford football club, the Pozzo’s family became the first family in the world to own three football clubs from Spain, Italy, and England. The family’s story was featured in the wall street journal in 2015.

After four years of Gino Pozzos leadership, Watford club successfully rose from the fourth division to premier league. The club attracted many bidders and Gino decided sell majority of his stake in the Granada F.C to Jiang Lizhang. Jiang Lizhang places prominence in the sports industry and is the owner of Link International Sports.

Gino took the move to create more time for him to monitor Udinese and Watford club which was rising and taking the center space of premier league. The club track record is impressive and will continue to fight for its position in the premier league.
